On July 12, 2005, Kyle MacDonald started a series of trades beginning with a paperclip and ending with a house. While we don’t expect to end with a house, we think it will be fun to share the experience. Trading and bartering was a necessity for many people during the Civil War.
When you come on your Hidden Memories Tour, bring an item from home to trade. Items we have to trade include mugs, Christmas items, new and used books, figurines, music boxes, journals, key chains, used DVDs, and candles. Some items may be traded away before the time of your tour, with different items taking their place.
The Rules ~
- Generally, we will trade one item for one item.
- Items do not have to be history related.
- Items can be new or used
- Family-friendly items only. No “Adult” items.
- No live animals. Please do not bring me a kitten or a puppy.
- Trades will happen before or after your tour.
- If you do not have an item to trade, a package of cookies or candy will be accepted.
- Trading is an option, but we think it will be fun for everyone.
Let’s Play!
